Best Plumbing Solution For Boating

When you think about boating, you might not consider some important aspects of being out on the water for an extended period. Just like traveling in an RV, you want to replicate the similar comforts of your home, just in a smaller, more compact space. Your marine plumbing system should be able to do that.

Having adequate plumbing is necessary not only for the use of toilets, but also for the shower and the galley. Any malfunction in your marine plumbing can be a quick way to ruin a trip — other than running out of gas and getting stranded, of course. Proper upkeep of your marine plumbing is vital for boat owners.

If any part of your plumbing system is outdated, you’ll want to repair or replace it promptly before your next trip on the water. Consider installing Saniflo’s Sanimarin system for a reliable and efficient plumbing solution.

With Saniflo’s Sanimarin product range, you get the best of both worlds for comfort and practicality while on the water. This macerator toilet system, patented for over 60 years, provides quiet operation, lower water consumption, and an eco-friendly solution to portable bathrooms.

Saniflo macerator systems are also easy to install and can be positioned atop any finished floor. This allows you to easily replace your old toilet with a new Sanimarin in your boat.

Saniflo offers three models of electric macerating toilet systems for your boat bathroom:

  • The Sanimarin 4 fills the role of a traditional toilet, with its standard height and user-friendly bowl size . This toilet is connected to the macerator, which can discharge effluent through a 1-inch or 1.5-inch plastic pipe 10 feet vertically and/or 100 feet horizontally.
  • For more confined spaces, the Sanimarin 31 offers a low-profile, compact design with a contemporary finish and quiet operation. It discharges effluent 10 feet vertically and/or 100 feet horizontally through a 1-inch or 1.5-inch plastic pipe.
  • The Sanimarin Maxlite + has a lightweight plastic toilet with a built-in self-priming sea water pump that easily replaces hand pump units. It also discharges effluent 10 feet vertically and/or 100 feet horizontally through a 1-inch or 1.5-inch plastic pipe.

All three toilet systems are equipped with a powerful stainless-steel macerating blade, a soft-close toilet seat with mounting hardware, and a control panel with different flushing options.

  • For shower or sink installations, the Sanimarin Pump makes it easy to remove gray water quickly. This compact and quiet unit is easy to install in all configurations and highly efficient. It discharges effluent up to 12 feet vertically and/or 120 feet horizontally with 0.75-inch or 1-inch plastic pipe.

How does a Marine macerating pump work?

  1. At the touch of a button from the control panel, waste is flushed down from the bowl into the macerating area.
  2. The pump and macerator start automatically, as the stainless-steel blade macerates organic waste and paper into fine particles in three to six seconds.
  3. The waste is pumped through a standard 1-inch or 1.5-inch pipe to its discharge point. The pumping power of Sanimarin systems enables boat owners to locate the holding tank wherever desired on board.
  4. Once the toilet bowl is completely emptied, the S-trap from the toilet is refilled with water.

Sanimarin System Advantages

  • Easy disposal of waste-tank contents: In most countries, all discharge of black water into the sea is prohibited, which means that your boat must have a black-water holding tank installed. Since the Sanimarin system can control the quantity of flushing water, it simplifies operation and maintenance.
  • Compact and powerful flushing system: With its pumping capabilities, Sanimarin systems can discharge wastewater to a holding tank above or below sea level. These electric units were designed for easy installation and silent operation, ensuring users are always comfortable.
  • Less water and electricity usage: Its efficient flushing system keeps water consumption to a minimum, while offering the flexibility of using freshwater or seawater. The range’s ultra-low electricity consumption is less than 0.2% of the average boat’s daily usage.
  • Sturdy design with a reliable three-year limited warranty: The Sanimarin range will easily replace hand pump toilets while providing more features and reliability. In fact, it is just as comfortable as your toilet at home. While most Saniflo products come with a two-year limited warranty, you can gain an additional year when you register your pump online.

Saniflo wants you to enjoy a safe voyage on the water. Proper cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of your marine plumbing system are vital. Ensure your system is in working condition and reliable before you set sail.

Installing one of Saniflo’s macerating systems in your marine bathroom ensures you have the best on your boat.
